Privacy policy
Effective 22 September 2026.
PairTab keeps a shared record of expenses between the people in a household. This page says what we collect to do that, why, who processes it for us, and how to have it deleted. PairTab has no advertising, sells no data, and includes no analytics or tracking software in the app or on this website.
What we collect
- Your account: your name, email address and password. The password is stored only as a salted scrypt hash. If you use Sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the account identifier and email address the provider shares, and no password.
- Your settings: language, time zone, currency and, if you add one, a profile picture.
- Your households: each household’s name and currency, its members, and the invites you create.
- What you record: expenses (title, amount, currency, date, category, who paid, how it is split, whether it is shared or private), recurring expenses, budgets, and receipt photos you attach or scan.
- Your devices: a push notification token for each device where you allow notifications.
- Purchases: if you subscribe to PairTab Plus, the store’s record of the purchase, so we can apply Plus to your household. Payment details stay with Apple or Google; we never see them.
Who sees what
Expenses you mark Shared are visible to the members of that household. Expenses you mark Private are visible only to you. Nobody else sees your household’s data, and we look at it only when you ask us for help with it.
Who processes it for us
- Hetzner Online GmbH hosts our servers and database, in the European Union.
- Vercel Inc. hosts this website.
- OpenRouter, Inc. receives a receipt photo when you use receipt scanning, and passes it to an AI model provider (currently Google, with Anthropic as a fallback) to read the amount, title and category. Photos are sent only when you scan one.
- Resend, Inc. sends our emails, such as password reset links.
- Expo (650 Industries, Inc.), Apple and Google deliver push notifications, using your device’s push token.
- Apple and Google handle Sign in with Apple and Google, and PairTab Plus payments.
Why
We use this information to run the service you signed up for: to keep your households’ records, compute balances, send you the notifications and emails you ask for, and provide Plus. We do not use it for advertising or sell it to anyone.
This website
The website sets no cookies and runs no analytics. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, such as IP addresses and request times, to operate and secure the site.
How long we keep it, and deleting it
We keep your data while your account exists. You can delete your account in the app, under Household, or by emailing support@asynk.tech from the address on the account; the account deletion page lists exactly what goes. Shared expenses in a household that other members still use are part of their records as well: they stay with that household, with your first name on them. Removing the app from your phone does not delete your account.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete it, by writing to support@asynk.tech. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you can also complain to your data protection authority.
Children
PairTab is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes, we update this page and its effective date, and email account holders about material changes.
