PairTab vs Honeydue

Honeydue links your bank accounts so a couple can see balances, transactions and bills in one place, and each partner chooses how much of that to share. PairTab does not connect to a bank: you add the costs you share, and only expenses you mark Shared are visible to your partner. It tracks who has contributed more over time, so future shared spending can even things out instead of tiny settlements.

Questions

Do I have to link my bank account to use PairTab?

No. PairTab never connects to a bank. You add the costs you share, by hand or by scanning a receipt with PairTab Plus, and PairTab keeps the running balance from what you enter.

Can I keep my own purchases private?

Yes. In PairTab, only expenses you mark Shared are visible to your partner; Private ones are visible only to you and never count toward the shared balance. In Honeydue, you choose what each linked account shares and can hide single transactions.

Which one is better for couples who keep separate finances?

If you want one view of all your accounts, Honeydue is built for that. If you keep your money separate and only want to track what you share — and who has put in more — PairTab is built for that.

How much does PairTab cost?

PairTab is free to download, and the running balance and Private and Shared expenses are free. PairTab Plus is an optional subscription for recurring expenses, shared budgets, receipt scanning, export and unlimited history. One subscription covers both partners, at the price the App Store or Google Play shows before you buy.
